Vegan Shoes and Accessories.

Companies listed below:

All the companies listed below are either run by vegans or have a vegan policy. Therefore all their products are suitable for vegans.

Some companies are based in the UK, others in The United States. They all function as an online shop, although some will also have a shop.
They also all ship to Ireland.

Shoes and accessories from these companies are mostly made with Synthetic Microfibre, which looks, acts and feels like leather, but is breathable, contrary to the vegan-friendly but uncomfortable shoes that can be bought in mainstream shops. The shoes from these companies are therefore comfortable, breathable and last a long time.
Other materials include hemp, nylon and Polyurethane/Cotton.

Companies listed in the right column:

Particular items are listed in the right column. The companies manufacturing them are not vegan but have a range of products suitable for vegans.

If you don't feel too comfortable ordering shoes online, any footwear street shop will sell non-leather items. Just look for the diamond shaped logo, or ask the shop for assistance.
It is worth mentionning that if you are opposed to sweatshops, it might be better to stick with the list below as most shoes and accessories from mainstream shops are made in sweatshops.

Environmentally friendly?

Some might argue that non-leather goods are not environmentally friendly.

Which causes less damage to the environment? Synthetic materials or tanned skin treated with several chemicals?
While synthetic materials often cause pollution from its manufacture and waste, leather manufacture and waste also causes pollution, due to the multiple use of chemicals for tanning.

Either choice leads to some environmental damage, but by chosing man made materials, you will not support animal exploitation.
